Iranian citizens in Azerbaijan actively vote in the presidential elections of Iran

The Iranian citizens living Baku are particularly active in the voting. There is a long line or voters outside the consulate. The voting process is going clam and no violation was fixed yet.

Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan and chairman of the polling station Mahammad Bagir Bahrani told APA the voting is going normal and there was no problem so far. He said the citizens were voting inside and outside of Iran under the full democratic condition. “Iran is one of the most democratic countries. Therefore the people are participating in the elections actively and determining their fates freely. The people see the voting as their national and religious duty. The Iranian people participated in the different elections in 30 years and formed its power and everything was by the democratic way”. The ambassador said he didn’t know how many people would vote in the polling station. “660 people voted here during the last elections. We think that it will be more this time. The voting will be ended at 18.00 and we will account and send the results to Tehran”.

Azersun Holding president Abdulbori Goozal also participated in the voting. He told APA Iran holds an election to be an example of democracy and fair election system for all over the world. “There was democratic pre-election campaign and no violation. These elections will increase the world’s confidence in Iran. The Iranians are working in our company. We don’t pressure on them to vote for someone. Everybody votes for the candidate he likes. Iran wants prove to the world that it can be Muslim, democrat and fair. It is enough to want that”.

The polling station was established in the Iran’s consulate in Nakhchivan as well. The Iranian citizens living in Nakhchivan are voting there.
