SOFAZ sharply reduces expenditures for education of youth abroad

Baku. Yegane Lachinzade - APA-Economics. State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan allocated AZN 35.5 mln for funding of the “State Program on education of Azerbaijan youth abroad in the years 2007-2015” while it was planned to spend AZN 44.1 mln, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic said in its report on the activities for 2015, APA-Economics reports.

According to the orders of the Ministry of Education, AZN 16.8 mln of funds allocated by SOFAZ in 2015 went to living, AZN 17.2 mln to education, AZN 0.8 mln rod travel, AZN 0.5 mln to health insurance and AZN 0.16 mln to visa, registration and other costs. In 2008-2015, the SOFAZ allocated AZN 156.8 mln for this program. As of December 31, 2015, number of youths studied abroad on funded contracts made 3,417.
