“Ministry is discussing assistance issues with the international financial institutions, decisions on banking sector are being passed. We lend to foreign countries. If anyone explains this in a different way, I leave it to their own ethics. Azerbaijan participates in IMF to apply to the Fund as a member. I state again, any loan package is out of question”, minister said.
The IMF representative told “Financial Times” that Azerbaijan holds negotiations with the International Monetary (IMF) Fund and the World Bank (WB) on allocation of 4 bln loan package.
Reuters reported that Azerbaijan intends to attract $ 3 bln from IMF, $1 bln from WB.
