International banking conference kicks off in Baku - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

The conference is held under the organization of The CIS Financial & Banking Council and the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

Delivering keynote speech at the event Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said the past two years were difficult in the CIS from economic viewpoint. Moreover, he added that Azerbaijan plays important role in integration issues.

Board Chairman of IBA Jahangir Hajiyev said that the conference would play an important role in the development of cooperation between the countries of the CIS. In particular, he noted the importance of integration and implementation of various joint projects in ongoing financial and economic crisis, solving problems in a wide format.

Anatoly Kazakov, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the CIS Financial and Banking Council, noted the importance of establishment of international financial centers.

Note that, within the framework of the conference, International Bank of Azerbaijan was awarded with ‘Best Bank in the CIS’ of the International Banking Council of the CIS and IBA Board Chairman Jahangir Hajiyev awarded with ‘Best banker in the CIS’ of the Coordinating Council of Financial and Banking Council of CIS.

The conference will focus on sustainability of financial markets, Caspian littoral financial markets, activity of banks in Free Trade Zone in the CIS space, establishment of international financial centers in the CIS, regional development financial institutions, mutual investment opportunities, and etc issues.

Financial and banking institutions of most CIS countries, several international financial organizations, representatives of banking and insurance organization of Azerbaijan attend the conference.
