Iran’s new Defence Minister Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi has urged the United States to refrain from launching further military attacks on his country, APA reports, citing Reuters.
Speaking in Iran’s parliament, the minister said Tehran would deliver a broad and forceful response if Washington resumed military operations against Iran.
Akhlaghi Ketabchi also addressed the possibility of US strikes on Iranian infrastructure using the powerful GBU-43/B bomb.
He said Iran would develop its defence industry, improve military technologies and expand cooperation with the private sector.
Iran’s parliament has approved Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi’s nomination as defence minister.
