Baku-APA-Economics. The annual Insurance rates on manat deposits can be increased above 12%, said Elman Rustamov, head of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to him, the reason of it is to strengthen confidence in the national currency - manat in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
"Probably, the Board of Trustees of the deposit Insurance Fund will make proper decision in this regard. Today we can openly say that banks do not have the need for currency. Interest rates on foreign currency deposits reduced. The steps that will be taken by us, are designed to de-dollarization", said Rustamov.
Recall that at the present time, the annual interest rate of deposit insurance is 12%.
