Four criminal cases launched in connection with the artificial price hike in Azerbaijan

During raids took samples of flour, butter and eggs of local production to verify compliance with quality, price and consumer features.

It was revealed that flour purchased at inflated in Market «BeÅŸ mÉ™rtÉ™bÉ™ market», flour and oil - in the Market «Ä°ki qapÄ±lÄ± market» (both in Agstafa), flour - in the shop "Eko Mart market", oil - in the market "SÉ™rfÉ™li Market "(both in Khachmaz), flour, purchased in the store belonging physical person Babakhan Bagirov in Mingachevir, and flour in a shop "Rahat market" in Sumgayit organoleptic characteristics and physical and chemical parameters do not meet the standards and are unfit for human consumption.

In connection with these facts 4 criminal case were launched under Art. 308.1 (abuse of power) and 200.1 (consumer fraud or the production and sale of substandard products).

Currently ongoing operational and investigative activities towards identifying the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General recommends to entrepreneurs avoid any artificial increase in prices, targeting the creation of shortages and other abuses of the change in exchange rate of manat. The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Economy and Industry in cooperation with the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General will continue to administrative and operational-investigative measures to prevent such incidents.
