ERC: Annual inflation in Azerbaijan reached 9%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Economic Researches Centre has released the results of statistical observation of prices conducted in 10 regions during October, 2012.

 

ERC says according to results, 1.96%-inflation was observed in Azerbaijan. All goods and service groups rose during previous month. So, the price of food products went up 2.46%, non-food products – 1.18% and service tariffs – 1.64%.

 

Compared to September, the prices in Baku rose 2.71%, in regions – 1.23%. The food products in Baku went up 3.23%, in regions – 1.69%, non-food products relevantly rose 2.3% and 0.09%, service tariffs – 1.85% and 1.44%.

 

Calculations indicate that, during 10 months of 2012, the inflation made 6.06% in the country, including in Baku – 9.59% and in regions – 2.59%. During the period, food products rose 8.76%, services – 4.64%, non-food products – 1.68%.

 

Compared with a year earlier, 8.96%-rise was observed in the country. During the same period, the prices soared 13.23% in Baku, 4.76% - in the regions. The highest inflation was observed in food products (14.02%). Non-food product surged 1.16%, services – 6.07%.

 

Besides, ERC specialists also calculated the value of minimum consumption basket. According to those calculations, per capita value of minimum consumption basket for able-bodied population made AZN 167.43, for pensioners – AZN 150.84, for 0-14-year old children – AZN 205.24: “Able-bodied population spent per head AZN 103.10 to food products, pensioners – AZN 92.37 and the parents of 0-14-year old children – AZN 112.61. At the same time, the able-bodied population spent per head AZN 38.85 to non-food products, pensioners – AZN 35.86 and the parents of 0-14-year old children – AZN 73.9”.
