“Heads of these subordinate bodies have been dismissed. Further inspection is under way. It is not the final measure yet. The ministry’s duty is to help entrepreneurs, but not to carry out groundless examinations. Shortcomings and irregularities will soon be addressed,” he added.
According to him, there is a need for some reforms in the structure of the ministry.
“It is necessary to set up a department for internal control over the subordinate bodies in the ministry,” he noted
He said that subordinate bodies – the State Antimonopoly Service and the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Assistance need improvement in their operations.
“The projects funded by the National Fund have to be effective, loan lending process has to be transparent and the priority has to be given to the development of regions,” he underlined.
Last week Azerbaijani President appointed Deputy Minister of Taxes Shahin Mustafayev as Minister of Economic Development.
After the appointment, heads of three subordinate bodies - Khalig Mammadov, Executive Director of the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Assistance; Elchin Zeynalov, Chief of the Antimonopoly Service; and Aslan Jafarov Chief of the State Consumer Market Supervision Service, were fired from their positions.
