Azerbaijan sees 28% rise in consumer lending in banking sector

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-ECONOMICS. As of September 1, 2012, the total volume of consumer loans given to housekeeping by commercial banks operating in Azerbaijan exceeded $ 5 bln, CBA told APA.
As of the end of August, the banks gave AZN 3,942.2 mln-consumer loans, which is equal to $5,021 bn. The amount of consumer loans given to population within the past year grew by AZN 851.4 mln or 27.5%.
At present time, the amount of per head consumer loans in the country makes AZN 426 or $540.
