Bank deposits rise in Azerbaijan in August

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of September 1, 2012, the volume of deposits placed at the existing commercial banks in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 9,878.3 mln, up AZN 1,428.6 mln or 16.9% compared to last year.

In the structure of deposits, AZN 4,462.6 mln or 45.2% fell to share of households. The volume of deposits increased by AZN 801.9 mln or 21.9% within the last year and AZN 47.4 mln or 1.1% in August.

At the same time, the volume of legal entitiesâ€™ deposits stood at AZN 5,415.8 mln as of September 1. This figure rose AZN 626.8 mln or 13.1% year-on-year. Moreover, a growth of AZN 162.3 mln or 3.1% was observed in August.

In the structure of legal entitiesâ€™ deposits, AZN 2,610.3 mln or 48.2% fell to share of financial institutions, AZN 2,805.5 mln or 51.85 â€“ non-financial institutions.
