China’s Q1 GDP rises just 8.1%

Baku - APA-Economics. China’s economy grew 8.1% in the first quarter vs. a year earlier, Beijing said Friday local time, below forecasts for 8.3%, Investor’s Business Daily reported.

That was the fifth straight quarter of slowing growth and the smallest gain in nearly three years.

The government said GDP growth was still in a "reasonable" range but acknowledged trouble stabilizing export growth, especially for small companies. It also said inflation remains a concern.
