Baku. Victoria Dementyeva - APA-Economics. Due to the postponement of development of Kashagan field, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is going down, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov said at a press conference.

“There is a slight decline in trade relations due to the fact that the development of Kashagan field has been postponed till 2017-2018 and the volume of oil transportation had declined. Azerbaijan is developing successfully and meets its cereal needs. Because if last year, Azerbaijan purchased 1.1 million tons of grain from Kazakhstan, but this year - 0.5 million tons”.

The Ambassador noted that due to such factors, the amount of turnover declined to $ 300 million: “But we hope that with the increase in oil production and transit through the territory of Azerbaijan, the trade volume will grow back over time”.
