Azerbaijan repays $172 mln of debt to Japan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan and Japan have signed 5 loan agreements in amount of $1.423 bln since they started cooperation, this was noted in Azerbaijanâ€™s report for 2011.

According to report, 3 projects in amount of $621.5 mln were completed, other 2 projects in amount of $ 801.5 mln are being implemented.

The debt in amount of $ 118 mln allocated for construction of EP-300 plant was repaid. As of January 1, 2012, $629.3 mln of total loan for other 4 projects was used and this makes 48.2%. Repaid debts on loan agreements made $ 54.4 mln as at January 1, 2012.

Besides, Japan has allocated 21 grants in amount of more than $ 59.7 mln.
