Minister: â€œFunds for increasing of salaries of servicemen in Azerbaijan have been considered in the annexes proposed to the budgetâ€â€

Ahmadov made a proposal to raise salaries of officers and ensigns serving on the front lines: â€œWe often visit front lines, meet with servicemen. Officers have repeatedly raised this issue. Why lieutenant or first lieutenant, serving in difficult conditions, should receive AZN 250-300, and officers who serve in law enforcement or customs â€“ AZN 600-1000?â€.

State Customs Committee (SCC) Central Administration Chief Mirgasim Vahabov expressed his protest against Ahmadovâ€™s opinion. He noted that the salary of Central Administration Chief at SCC is AZN 300, and inspectors - AZN 190.

MP Javid Gurbanov also stressed the need to increase the salaries of troops serving on the front and living in difficult conditions: â€œThe argument is misplaced. The decision related to increase of salaries is passed not by the parliament, but by the governmentâ€.

Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said that salary increase of officers is an urgent issue. He noted that some work would be taken in this regard. The Minister stressed that funds for increasing of salaries of servicemen in Azerbaijan had been considered in the annexes proposed to the budget.
