Azerbaijan increases number of plastic bank cards

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of May 1, 2010, the number of issued plastic cards in Azerbaijan made 4.105 mln, up 8.7% compared with a year ago, Central Bank of Azerbaijan told APA.

13,968 mln operations were carried out via debit cards, during January-April. The volume of operations made AZN 1.655 bln, the number down by 2.4%, volume rose by 4.8% compared with a year ago. The average sum on the debit operations stood AZN 118.5.

702 000 operations were carried out via credit cards, during the same period. The volume of this was AZN 179 mln. These indexes rose by 16.6% and 12.6% compared with a year ago.
