Azerbaijan sees 11.3% rise in populationâ€™s savings

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of October 1, savings put in Azerbaijan-based banks reached AZN 2 119.3 million, up 12.2% from a year ago and up 11.3% from early this year, said the State Statistical Committee.

The personal savings grew by 4.7% or AZN 95.2 million in September alone.

According to the statistics, most of the savings are held in foreign currencies, especially dollar.

Over 75% of savings are in privately owned banks.
