Bank deposits are 70% insured in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund has completed collection of the regular calendar payments for the third quarter from the member banks.
The Fund said collections in the three main deposit currencies respectively made AZN 634 000 in the national currency, $1.157 million in the USD and â‚¬145 000 in the euro.

The Fund has to date collected AZN 16 316 700 in calendar payments, including membership dues.

The total amount of deposits put by individuals in the member banks reached AZN 1.984 billion, includinginsured deposits of AZN 1.378 billion (67.46%) and the number of insured deposit holders reached 4 970 119 people.
Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund has been in operation since August 13, 2007 and has 42 bank members.
