Asian Development Bank sends a rail project mission to Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Tomomi Tamaki, principal country economist at Asian Development Bank (ADB), has led a mission to Baku in connection with preparing the Railway Sector Development Project for Azerbaijan.

“The mission will have meetings at the Ministry of Transport, Azerbaijan State Railways Company and the World Bank Office in Baku,” said the ADB Office in baku.

The mission will leave Azerbaijan on May 31.

The proposed Program is supporting ADB’s Country Strategy for Azerbaijan, which identifies transport as a priority for assistance. It is also consistent with the Strategy of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, which Azerbaijan is actively participating in. Transport is one of the priority areas under CAREC.
