Victor Yanukovich: Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine to double

After the meeting Mr. Yanukovich told a media briefing that cooperation in oil and gas sector was on focus.
â€œWe discussed not only issues concerning joint production and transportation of oil but also cooperation with the third states on oil and gas transportation,â€? he said.
Ukrainian Premier said that development of commercial and economic relations between the two countries was also discussed at the meeting.
â€œWe think that we have untapped potential for development of further economic relations. The proposals we submitted to the Government of Azerbaijan envisage increasing trade turnover between the two nations. The trade turnover can be doubled to at least USD 500m in two months,â€? he said.
Mr. Yanukovich said that joint projects can help increase the trade turnover.
That is, Ukraine and Azerbaijan want to cooperate in aviation engineering.
â€œWe offered Azerbaijan to participate in financing projects for AN aircrafts. Azerbaijan can benefit from these projects. I think this proposal will be very interesting or Azerbaijan and Ukraine can create a number service centers in Azerbaijan. Also, we can give 80-passenger AN148 aircrafts to Azerbaijan for flights to 5,000 kilometers,â€? he said.
He also added that Ukraine is keen on cooperating with Azerbaijan in military and technical fields.
