Workshop concerning Export Alliance takes place
The event was attended by businessmen - members of AZPROMO Board of Trustees, officials, and European experts, AZPROMO Press Service told APA.
The workshop discussed issues concerning the influence of alliances on exporters’ activity, Azerbaijani exporters’ readiness to unite in alliances, appropriate types of alliances for local exporters, Government support to alliances and other items. TACIS expert Yana Falatova gave information about the successful experience of export alliances in Czech Republic. Recommendations for AZPROMO export promotion oriented activity were discussed within the roundtable.
Earlier, two other workshops were organized within the TACIS Project Support to AZPROMO. Issues like Creation of industrial zones for attracting foreign investments and Azerbaijan’s Investment law were discussed correspondingly on October 20, 2006 and October 26, 2006.
Established by the Ministry of Economic Development in 2003, AZPROMO is the sole official organization for the promotion of Azerbaijani export and inflow of foreign investments into the non-oil sectors of the economy.
It is supervised by its Board of Trustees, comprised of representatives from the government, private sector and the international community. In August 2005 the Foundation, originally only tasked to attract Foreign Direct Investments to the country was also empowered with the mandate to promote export of local products.
Launched by the European Commission in 1991, the TACIS Programme provides grant-financed technical assistance to 12 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, /APA/
