Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili supported a protest against the Russian cruise liner visiting the port of Batumi, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.
Salome Zourabichvili called the arrival of Russian cruise liner carrying Russian tourists in Batumi port a provocation.
“Proud of our people protesting peacefully the latest Russian provocation - a Russian cruise liner visiting the Georgian port of Batumi while Putin blocks grain shipments and hinders free navigation in the Black Sea. Black Sea security is vital for Georgia, Ukraine and the European Union,” Zourabichvili added.
It should be noted that the Russian "Astoria Grande" cruise ship entered Batumi port with Russian tourists on board yesterday. Citizens of Georgia greeted the arrival of the ship with a protest. The Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia said that the cruise ship was outside the sanctions and arrived at the port of Batumi from Türkiye.
The cruise ship left Batumi port yesterday evening.
