Baku-APA. Security forces detained 1,050 suspects across 34 Turkish provinces since the nationwide anti-terrorist operations began in the country, said the Turkish Prime Ministry in a statement released on its website Monday, APA reports.

The statement also added that ambassadors of all 28 NATO allies will meet in Brussels Tuesday following Ankara's request amid Turkey's operations against the outlawed organizations.

The Ministry additionally confirmed that Turkish jets hit PKK terrorists in northern Iraq on Sunday, targeting shelters, caves and warehouses of the terrorists.

Turkey will continue fighting terrorist threats both internally and externally, added the statement.

Turkish security forces said that at least 256 suspects were detained in nationwide operations on Monday, reported the Anadolu Agency. Police said that 15 people suspected of ties to IS were arrested in raids in the province of Ankara Monday.

The nationwide operations are the latest in a recent wave of arrests which saw hundreds of suspected IS, PKK and DHKP-C supporters captured across the country.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the EU and Turkey.

Turkey recently launched air strikes against IS group and the PKK in Syria and Iraq. Turkish jets bombed PKK camps in northern Iraq Friday and Saturday for the first time in the last two-and-a-half years.
