The foreign ministers of Poland, Germany and France arrived in Kiev on Thursday with a diplomatic mission on instructions from EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. For four hours they have discussed ways out of the crisis in Ukraine with President Viktor Yanukovich and then went for a meeting with oppositionists.
European ministers succeeded to agree with Yanukovich to hold early parliamentary and presidential elections this year, form a government of national unity within 10 days and introduce amendments in Ukrainian constitution before summer in this year, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a news conference in Warsaw.
Late on Thursday evening after talks on these decisions with opposition the ministers came back to talks with Yanukovich. Opposition leaders and lawmakers joined talks. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius left Kiev over a visit to China scheduled before.
