Baku-APA. A total of 36.3 kg high-quality marijuana was captured in southeast Macedonia, said the Macedonian Interior Ministry on Saturday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The marijuana was found in a Greek registered Peugeot Partner car by the customs officers at the crossing border to Greece in Bogorodica, southeast of Macedonia.
The car's driver is a 32-year-old Albanian citizen. A gun and some ammunition were also found in the car, according to the Interior Ministry.
The drug, originated from Albania, is designated to be transferred into western Europe via Macedonia.
This patch of drug is estimated to be valued at 100,000 euros (about 136,000 U.S. dollars) if sold in the illegal market.
The Albanian driver will be charged for illegal drug production and trade of narcotics as well as illegal possession of arms.
