Current status of ISAF operation, transition process and the progress on the handover of the security responsibilities to the Afghan National Security Forces, current political situation in Afghanistan and necessary legal framework for the launch of the Resolute Support Mission have been discussed during this meeting.
In his speech, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan pointed out the ongoing support of Azerbaijan to Afghanistan and reaffirmed the contribution of Azerbaijan to the Resolute Support Mission after 2014.
Taking the opportunity of his visit to Brussels, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov met the Minister of Defence of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Alasania, Minister of Defence of Latvia, Mr. Raimonds Vejonis and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Philip M. Breedlove and discussed with them the issues of mutual interest.
