The Caspian Sea is the sea of friendship and peace, Rouhani said, noting that people for centuries have been living on the shores [of the Caspian Sea] and should benefit from it.
Iran and Azerbaijan are interested in cooperation in the sphere of ensuring regional stability and security, according to Rouhani. “Iran is a supporter of peace and friendship in the region and stands ready to provide assistance in this regard,” he added.

Rouhani said Iran and Azerbaijan are going to build sincere and close bilateral relations, emphasizing that a third country will not be allowed to create problems between the two nations. Iran is committed to fraternity and friendship with regional countries, he noted.
Rouhani thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Iran’s peaceful nuclear rights, noting that Iran too always supports Azerbaijan’s rights before international organizations.
“All countries can make use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and we should not allow this technology to be monopolized by a certain group of countries. We think that outdated weapons like sanctions will no longer be resorted to and there should be a global harmony of peace, stability, and development,” he said.
