Baku-APA. Estonian Police and Border Guard on Monday expressed serious concern in the wake of Sweden discovering a suspected Russian submarine off Stockholm, according to Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR).
ERR reported that Estonia "is keeping a watchful eye on naval activity" within the water territory around its two largest islands, Saaremaa and Hiiumaa.
"We have been in contact with our partners in Sweden, Finland and Latvia to share information. We continue to track activity on the sea," Priit Parkna of the Estonian Police and Border Guard was quoted as saying.
The Swedish military is continuing its search for what has officially been described as "foreign underwater activity" in the Kanholmsfjarden area, a few dozen km from Stockholm.
