Paris. Fuad Gulubeyli – APA. The solidarity rally is now underway in Paris’s Republic Square.
French media has said that nearly 2 million people participate in the rally, the APA correspondent to Paris reports.
The rally was attended by heads of state and government of more than 50 countries. After a little march alongside François Hollande, they posed together for photographs, and then left the area.
François Hollande then met with relatives of the terror victims.
Members of different religions and NGOs as well as those of unions too were present in the protest.
Representatives of the magazine Charlie Hebdo who were the target of the attack also joined the rally. Their security was especially ensured.
Note that, France’s far-right National Front Party has announced its absence in the rally. Chairwoman of the party Ms Marine Le Pen said they have held protests in provinces. This decision triggered serious controversy in France’s domestic policy.

The APA correspondent to Paris reports that there are currently a huge number of foreign media representatives. Representatives of France’s different religious communities and peoples are among the marchers as well. They have come with the flags of their countries and unions.
The rally is being held under the slogans such as “Freedom, brotherhood”, “We’re all French, we’re Charlie”, “France is one and indivisible”, “Long live France”, etc.
Along with European heads of state and government, 8 African heads of state too are in Paris to join the rally.

Paris. Fuad Gulubeyli – APA. All French cities today are holding national solidarity rallies.
An APA correspondent to Paris reports that the protest, which is due to start today at 3:00 PM local time in Paris’s Republic square, will be joined by French President François Hollande as well as heads of state and government of a number of countries.
Protesters will march from Republic Square towards Nation Square along the city’s two avenues.
Today’s rally in Paris will be one of the most crowded protests in the country’s history. Meanwhile, the French president told the country’s Muslims to take a special part in the rally.
Security measures have been tightened in Paris. 7,000 police in Paris, 100,000 in France overall, have been deployed to ensure security during the rally.
Snipers are positioned on the roofs of all skyscrappers on the streets where protests are going to take place.
Organizing the rally is the French government. All religious communities, non-governmental organizations, political parties and intellectuals are invited to participate in the event.
One of the most striking aspects of the rally is the participation of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The protest will also be joined by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Biritish Prime Minister David Cameron, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Hundreds of mass media outlets are present in Paris’s Republic Square to report of the event.
Note that, François Hollande on Sunday met with heads of Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities of France, calling on them to unite around republic values and solidarity.
