Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces are "gradually liberating" the territory of the Kherson region, in addition to regaining control of the Tavriya region and making progress in Zaporizhzhia, APA reports citing Teletrader.
He added that "fierce street fights continue" in Sievierodonetsk and claimed Russia has lost about 32,000 personnel since the start of the conflict.
Following his meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Zelensky expressed hope Ukraine's membership application to the European Union will soon be accepted.
"I am convinced that this decision can strengthen not only our state, but the entire European Union," he said.
