A tanker was struck by two unidentified projectiles near a Saudi port in the Persian Gulf late Sunday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency said, citing a report from the vessel’s master, Iran International reports.
The tanker was travelling southeast, 72 nautical miles east of Saudi Arabia’s Ras Al Khafji, when it was hit on its port side at 23:47 UTC on November 1.
All crew members were accounted for, and no environmental impact had been reported, UKMTO said.
Authorities were investigating. The agency advised vessels to transit with caution and report suspicious activity.
