"Turkey has demonstrated itself as NATO's reliable partner, but good relations with Russia are also important for it," said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in his interview with TRT Haber Channel.
FM has added that his country tries for non-existence tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
"Main point is a decrease of tension and achievement of sustainable peace."
According to the Minister, although there are tensions, some Western countries have exaggerated the tensions further.
"Some efforts for a decrease of tensions are not sincere and aimed at saying "we are also here". All know that Mr. Erdogan plays the role of mediator, Kyiv is ready for negotiations with Moscow in Turkey. Negotiations are underway with Russia now," added Cavusoglu.
