The employee of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS) who committed suicide had health problems, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the SSS.
It was noted that the individual had undergone bariatric surgery abroad a few months ago.
“It was established that our employee came to work early in the morning, took his weapon, and left the service area. Later, he was found dead in his car with a gunshot wound, and a letter was discovered on the passenger seat,” the SSS said in a statement.

Authorities suspect that the individual took their own life.
According to available information, the person was an employee of the SSS’s Anti-Corruption Agency and reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot inside the vehicle.
Forensic experts have been deployed to the scene.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia has opened an investigation into the incident. During the inspection of the vehicle, a firearm and a note found on the front passenger seat were confiscated.
