Russia does not want a ceasefire but seeks long-term peace, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said while commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's proposal for a 60-day ceasefire, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

Peskov noted that Russia wants long-term peace rather than a ceasefire and is ready to do everything to achieve it.

The Kremlin spokesman also added that Russia is grateful to American negotiators for their efforts regarding Ukraine.

Note that Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready to hold elections if Russia agrees to a 60-day ceasefire.
