“We don’t have a unified position on Russia in EU,” Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuania’s president said in an interview with Politico, APA reports.
“We don’t have a unified position on Russia in the European Union,” warning this might endanger sanctions at some point. It is “not suitable to have those different positions” on Russia, Nausėda said.
“Lithuania’s position is very clear. We are very close to the border, we know Russia very well. For us, Russian behaviour is really a threat and I think Poland and the Baltic countries will share our view.” And the situation is “worsening, not improving”, “ the President stated.
Note that EU-Russian relations deteriorated because of the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014 and after the crisis occurred in eastern Ukraine
