If the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO is no longer on the agenda, the European Union (EU) is obliged to offer Ukraine real security guarantees, said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, on the eve of the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states, APA reports.
"Over the past 100 years, Russia has attacked at least 19 countries, some three or four times. None of these countries has attacked Russia. Therefore, it does not need any security guarantees. And security guarantees are needed more than anyone else," Kallas emphasized.
