Global military spending rose to $2.887 trillion in 2025, marking the 11th consecutive year of increase, APA reports, citing a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
The report notes that more than half of global military spending was accounted for by three countries — the United States, China, and Russia.
“The United States, China, and Russia, which have the highest military expenditures, spent a total of $1.48 trillion, accounting for 51% of global spending,” the document states.
At the same time, the share of military spending in global GDP rose to 2.5%, the highest level since 2009.
