Azerbaijan is fulfilling its obligations regarding the reopening of transport and communication links with Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with Swiss Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ignazio Cassis, APA reports.

The minister said that several additional developments are expected in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the TRIPP project included in the document during the Washington Peace Summit is one of them.

Jeyhun Bayramov stated that work on reopening transport and communication links within the framework of the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process is ongoing.

"Our expectation is that once the preparatory phase is completed, construction work will begin in Armenia. Azerbaijan has largely fulfilled its part of the work," Jeyhun Bayramov said.

The minister noted that there is also work to be carried out on the territory of Armenia.

Jeyhun Bayramov added that restoring the transport connection between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will make a significant contribution to the region's economic development.

"Along with ensuring connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, the implementation of these projects will create new economic opportunities for the region as a whole. This will benefit both Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as a broader geographical area," the minister said.

The minister added that all these processes promise highly positive outcomes for the region.

"There are already shipments of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia. At the next stage, we believe trade may also expand," Jeyhun Bayramov noted.
