German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that Ukraine requires €60 billion in foreign aid this year to meet its needs, APA reports.
"This year alone, Ukraine's external support needs to meet its needs amount to €60 billion. Therefore, every billion from both sources – bilateral, that is, national, and European – matters," Pistorius said upon arrival at a scheduled meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels.
He shares the concerns of some countries that the EU loan to Ukraine will lead to a reduction in bilateral support for Kyiv. "I certainly share this concern, as we need these funds in addition to those already available," the minister stated. "We need precisely additional funds," Pistorius concluded.
