According to the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council of Georgia, part of the restrictions imposed relating to the pandemic has been lifted and some of them have been eased, APA reports citing Georgian Journal.

Giorgi Ghibradze, Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, introduced the decisions of the Council to the media.

More specifically, by the decision of the Council:

From March 1, citizens of 67 countries will be able to cross the Georgian border with the PCR test. A foreign citizen can enter Georgia under two conditions, vaccination and a negative PCR test result. As for the citizens of Georgia, they also could enter Georgia either on the basis of a test, or vaccination, and if they do not had any of them, they were obliged to observe 8-day self-isolation. According to the decision, the period of self-isolation has been reduced to 5 days. And if a citizen of Georgia enters the country with a PCR test, he/she will be exempted from the obligation to repeat the test within 72 hours.

Accordingly, the applications required for citizens of the above 67 countries will be abolished, the so-called business application, work from Georgia and student application.

It was also decided to increase the number of people allowed to sit at one table in a closed space from 6 to 10 and in an open space from 10to 15 people. The restriction on the maximum number of guests invited has been lifted as well.

From March 1, quarantine spaces will be abolished.

The obligation of thermal screening will also be abolished. Hotels will be allowed to serve guests through the buffet.

From March 4, clubs will be allowed to operate and will be able to use only 60% of the area where the event is held.

From March 15, conferences, seminars and trainings will be allowed to be held without any restrictions.

An international match between Georgia and Russia will be held on February 27. 50% of spectators will be allowed to attend the event.

At the same time, as Ghibradze explained, from March 1, these mitigations may be further expanded, but, obviously, everything depends on the epidemiological situation. As he noted, the Council is moving to a 2-week working regime from today and will meet once every two weeks instead of every week.
