Georgian special forces begin to disperse opposition rally-UPDATED

In Georgia, special forces using special equipment began to disperse a rally of supporters of the Georgian opposition at the country's parliament, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

Arrests are also being carried out near the country's parliament building. Some participants of the rally use pyrotechnics against the security forces, but most are fleeing from parliament along Rustaveli Avenue.

Several thousand people have gathered in front of the parliamentary building in downtown Tbilisi for another anti-government rally, APA reports citing TASS.

The demonstrators have blocked traffic along Rustaveli Avenue in the vicinity of the parliamentary building. They are holding Georgian and EU flags, as well as posters demanding the resignation of the government and rerun parliamentary elections.

Prior to the rally, students marched along the central streets to the rally site.
