In Georgia, the Chairman and members of the CEC (Central Election Commission) will be granted the right to carry service weapons, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.
According to the information, the legislative initiative was presented to the parliament by parliaments member of the ruling party "Georgian Dream."
According to the project, CEC members will be added to the list of individuals who have the right to carry service weapons in order to implement their authorities with the amendment to the "Law on Weapons."
Additionally, CEC members who have continuously served for the past 4 years will be able to carry firearms for self-defense and sports even after their term ends.
