A scenario similar to Ukraine’s "Maidan" coup cannot be implemented in Georgia because the country’s institutions are strong and its people are wise, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.

, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a press conference at the government administration, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

According to the Prime Minister, the main responsibility for yesterday’s violent protest lies with the relevant European politicians, bureaucrats, and the local entity representing the "fifth column" in the form of "four political parties."

“For the third year in a row, some European politicians and bureaucrats, who have failed to achieve the ‘Ukrainization’ of Georgia, are continuously trying to use the candidate status and the issue of starting negotiations to weaken the country, stir polarization in Georgia. We remind that, over these three years, the main tools used to undermine the country's image and suppress society have been the candidate status and the opening of negotiations. Yesterday, it became clear to everyone that everyone knows everything very well. Radicals and their foreign sponsors have repeatedly tried to invent an excuse for attempts to stage riots and turn Georgia into another Ukraine. They are yet to realize that, unlike the Ukraine of 2013, Georgia is an independent country with strong institutions and, most importantly, wise people, whose resolve no one can shake. The Maidan-like scenario cannot be implemented in Georgia," he pointed out at a briefing,” the Prime Minister said.
