A Gymnich informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union member states will be held on 2 - 3 February of 2024 in, APA reports.
The meeting will be held in Brussels chaired by EU High Representative Josep Borrell.
The ministers will discuss the relations between the EU and Africa in a context of growing challenges. The Belgian EU presidency wants to build on the conclusions of the EU-Africa Summit that took place in February 2022 to underscore the need for dialogue, cooperation, and engagement in the light of ever-growing geopolitical challenges.
Later, the ministers are also expected to discuss EU-Türkiye relations. Following the Joint Communication of November 29th on the political, economic, and trade relations between the EU and Türkiye, the meeting will focus on the various regional developments. The EU will review the extent to which cooperation is possible in the field of foreign policy and security.
