The European Union summoned on Tuesday Russian charge d'affaires, Kirill Logvinov, calling for Moscow to permit an "independent and transparent international investigation" on how opposition politician Alexey Navalny died and asking for his body to be given to his family immediately, APA reports quoting The Barrons.
The diplomatic appeal was made by the European External Action Service (EEAS) Managing Director for Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, regional cooperation and OSCE, Michael Siebert who insisted "that Russia must immediately and unconditionally release all other political prisoners, as well as all those detained in cities across Russia when paying tribute to Alexei Navalny."
