The European Council announced on Friday that it is sanctioning 65 Russian individuals and 18 entities over the country's involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. The measures include an asset freeze and a travel ban for the impacted persons, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The sanctions will apply to some of Russia's military staff, politicians, propagandists, leading businesspersons and family members of already sanctioned individuals, the Council stated, as well as companies supporting the Russian military and government, including the National Settlement Depository. The new additions bring the total number of sanctioned persons to 1,158 and entities to 98.
In addition, the Council is imposing restrictive measures on 12 individuals and 8 entities in Belarus "for their role in the ongoing internal repression and human rights abuses."
