The Council of the European Union announced on Tuesday that it had added Hamas political leader Yahia Sinouar to its sanctions list. According to the announcement, this measure is part of the EU's broader strategy to address the threat posed by Hamas, particularly in light of its activities in Israel, APA reports.

Effective immediately, Sinouar faces a freeze on his funds and other financial assets within EU member states. Furthermore, EU operators are prohibited from providing funds and economic resources to him.

Also today, the Council determined to add Ahmed Khaled Müller, a member of Al-Shabab in Somalia, to its list. Muller is known for engaging in combat operations and committing terrorist acts for Al-Shabab. The group, active in the Horn of Africa region, has perpetrated numerous terrorist attacks in Kenya, Somalia, and neighboring countries and is affiliated with Al Qaeda.
