The European Union announced on Monday it has expanded sanctions on Belarus, adding 26 individuals and two entities to its sanctions list, APA reports.

The move comes as part of the EU's ongoing response to Belarus' support for Russia in the conflict with Ukraine and alleged human rights violations.

Altogether, EU restrictive measures against Belarus now apply to 287 individuals and 39 entities.

Previously, the European Union adopted its 15th sanctions package against Russia, tightening measures on Russia's shadow fleet and combating sanctions circumvention. In that case, the measure included 54 individuals and 30 entities.
