Estonia will provide financial assistance to Ukraine for EUR 1.2 bln. including EUR 316 mln. in civilian aid and EUR 900 mln. in military aid, Estonian President Alar Karis said in a joint press conference with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, APA reports.

"Within the framework of the EU, we have already supported Ukraine for 5 billion euros. This support must be continued. Estonia's long-term contribution until 2027 will amount to 1.2 billion euros. "Ukraine needs more and better weapons," Karis stressed.

He added that the EU should increase arms production so that Ukraine can buy everything it needs "today, not tomorrow".

"Our actions should be aimed at preventing any aggressive war in Europe in the future. As long as the war continues, Ukraine will receive support from Estonia," added Karis.

The president also noted that Estonia will give Ukraine 0.25% of the country's defense budget every year.

"And we call on everyone to help Ukraine as much as possible until Russia stops the war," he stressed.
