European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell told reporters on Wednesday that the bloc will be able to deliver only half of the artillery shells it pledged to send to Ukraine by March, APA reports citing TeleTrader.
Namely, the EU chief said he expects the bloc will send 524,000 howitzer shells out of the one million promised last year, with the goal of delivering around 630,000 more shells by the end of the year.
Last March, the bloc vowed it would provide one million new artillery shells to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia.
